Dear Parishioners,
We are finally coming to the end of the Lenten Season. This upcoming weekend, we shall celebrate Holy Week, which comprises of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. What a blessed time this is, when we celebrate our Lord’s Paschal Mystery. It is such a wonderful opportunity for us to grow in our faith by fully reflecting upon what Jesus’ sacrifice meant for humanity.
A Blessed Time
During Holy Week, we are so privileged to catch a glimpse of how unending our Savior’s love is. Every step He took towards the cross, His death on Good Friday, and His resurrection are all such wonderful reflections of His love. These events are so important to our Christian faith, so we should be sure to immerse ourselves in His love this weekend in order to grow our faith. As we immerse ourselves, let us detach ourselves from worldly desires and focus our attention on Jesus Christ.
Upcoming Events
We invite you to join us at Holy Family Parish this week as we reflect upon Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, and what that meant for us as human beings. We will be holding Mass to commemorate Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday. Please find the Mass times below:
Holy Thursday Mass: Thursday, April 6th, 7:00 P.M.
Good Friday Service: Friday, April 7th, 3:00 P.M.
Easter Vigil Mass: Saturday, April 8th, 7:00 P.M.
Easter Sunday Masses: Sunday, April 9th, 9:00 A.M. & 11:00 A.M
On Good Friday, April 7th, at 7:00 PM, we will be holding Stations of the Cross. These serve as a reminder of God’s infinite love for us.
On Easter Sunday, April 9th, immediately following the 11:00 AM Mass, we will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt. Children of all ages are welcome to participate. All that is needed is a basket to search for candy-filled eggs.
As we celebrate Holy Week, we extend an invitation to reflect with us and truly comprehend what our Lord accomplished for us. By engaging in liturgy this week, we can experience our Lord’s truth firsthand. As we endure the darkness of Good Friday and Holy Saturday, let us look forward to Easter Sunday with hope. Let us all come to the understanding that we can only fully appreciate the light that our Lord Jesus Christ brings into our lives once we truly understand the gravity of sin, and how Jesus Christ conquered that sin.
Yours in Christ,
Monsignor Sweeney
