Preparing for the Birth of Our Lord

Dear Parishioners,

We are well into the wonderful Season of Advent, that time of reflective preparation as we await the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. This season always presents a challenge for us: amidst all the shopping, decorating, and gift-giving, we often find it difficult to really focus on our Lord. However, as with all things, we must find the strength within us to be the best Catholics that we can be, not only during Advent but always. Here at Holy Family Church, we wanted to take some time to remind you all of the important aspects of the Season of Advent, which we hope will strengthen your faith as we near the blessed celebration of our Lord’s birth on Christmas Day. May you find time to slow down this Christmas season, say “no” to the things that distract you from Jesus and say “yes” to the gift that God wants you to experience.

Preparing for Our Lord's Birth

There are so many ways during Advent that we can prepare our hearts and minds for celebrating Jesus’ birth at Christmas. For example, we can take time each night to say a prayer and do some some-reflection: what kind of Catholic have you been during this Advent? Another way is to celebrate Advent Mass with us at Holy Family Church, and join our community as we all prepare together. No matter what you do, remember the reason you are preparing, and ask God to guide you as you anticipate the coming of His birth.

Christmas Masses

As we near Christmas, we wanted to provide some information as to our Christmas Mass schedule. We welcome you all to join us in joyful celebration of our Lord’s birth.

The schedule for our Christmas and New Year’s Masses is below:

Christmas Eve: 4pm
Christmas Day: 9am & 11am

This Advent, let us strive to be the best Catholics we can be during this blessed season. May we all find time to slow down this Christmas Season as we reflect inwards upon ourselves and strengthen our faith. May we all say “no” to the things that distract you from Jesus and “yes” to the true gifts of Christmas such as love for one another, ourselves, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,

Monsignor Sweeney
