Holy Week at Holy Family Parish

Dear Parishioners,

As we near the conclusion of the Lenten Season, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Holy Week. This sacred period takes us through Christ’s journey as we celebrate Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. It is a time of great blessing as we commemorate the profound Paschal Mystery of our Lord. Let us seize this opportunity to deepen our faith by earnestly contemplating the significance of Jesus’ sacrifice for all humanity.

A Blessed Time

During this sacred week, we are humbled by the endless depths of our Savior’s love. Every step He took towards Calvary, His ultimate sacrifice on Good Friday, and the glorious dawn of His resurrection illuminate the magnitude of His love. These pivotal moments are foundational to our Christian identity, urging us to fully immerse ourselves in His love this week to nurture our faith. As we delve into this spiritual journey, let us release our grasp on worldly distractions and fix our gaze solely upon the radiant presence of Jesus Christ.

Upcoming Events

We invite you to join us at Holy Family Parish this week as we reflect upon Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection,  and what that meant for us as human beings. We will be holding Mass to commemorate Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday. Please find the Mass times below:

Holy Thursday Mass: Thursday, March 28th, 7:00 P.M.

Good Friday Service: Friday, March 29th, 3:00 P.M.

Easter Vigil Mass: Saturday, March 30th, 7:00 P.M.

Easter Sunday Masses: Sunday, March 31st, 9:00 A.M. & 11:00 A.M

On Wednesday, March 27th, at 7:00pm and Good Friday, March 29th, at 7:00pm, we will be holding Stations of the Cross. These serve as a reminder of God’s infinite love for us.

On Easter Sunday, March 31st, immediately following the 11:00 AM Mass, we will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt. Children of all ages are welcome to participate. All that is needed is a basket to search for candy-filled eggs.

As we journey through Holy Week, we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us in profound contemplation, delving into the depth of our Lord’s mission for humanity. Through active engagement in the sacred liturgies of this week, we have the privilege to intimately encounter the essence of our Lord’s teachings. As we traverse the solemnity of Good Friday and Holy Saturday, let us eagerly anticipate the radiant dawn of Easter Sunday, buoyed by the enduring flame of hope.

Let us collectively acknowledge that true enlightenment comes as we grapple with the burden of sin and grasp the magnitude of Jesus Christ’s triumph over it. Only then can we fully embrace the transformative radiance He brings into our lives, illuminating our journey with divine grace and redemption.

Yours in Christ,
Monsignor Sweeney
